No fees or other charges for seafarer recruitment or placement or for providing employment to seafarers are borne directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, by the seafarer, other than the cost of the seafarer obtaining a national medical certificate, the national seafarer's book ,
passport , STCW documents appropriate for the rank remain seafarer’s costs .
Matrix Crew Management does not use any means, mechanisms, or ‘black’ lists intended to prevent or deter seafarers from gaining employment for which they are qualified. All of the recruitment process is carried out without any discrimination.
Seafarers are offered employment based on all available vacancies.
Personal details of all seafarers are kept confidential with due regards to the right to privacy of the seafarer.
The company doesn’t employ any person under the age of 18.
Requests for information or advice by families of seafarers while the seafarers are at sea are dealt with promptly, sympathetically and at no cost (see contact details).
Seafarers are informed of their rights and duties under their Terms and Conditions of Employment of Personnel on Sea Service. Seafarers are given adequate time to examine their employment agreements before and after they are signed and they will receive a copy of T&C and Appointment Letter.
The Appointment Letter is signed by both the seafarer and Matrix as agent for and on behalf of the owner
of the vessel and the company (the Letter of Attorney is posted in the office).
The T&C and Appointment Letter are in accordance with applicable regulations and MLC requirements.
Seafarers are informed of particular conditions and of the particular Ship owner's policies relating to their employment.
All necessary travel information regarding embarkation and disembarkation are provided to seafarers to protect them from being stranded in a foreign port.
Seafarers' complaints are examined and responded as per company procedure.
Any monetary loss as a result of Ship owner's failure to pay the seafarer is duly compensated.
